easyHDR overview

With easyHDR, your photos can finally look the way your eyes saw the scene. No more blown-out highlights or murky shadows. easyHDR creates and tone-maps High Dynamic Range images, giving you impressive results even in tough lighting.

It combines multiple exposures into a single HDR photo and tone-maps it for perfect display or printing. Hand-held shots? No problem—the alignment tool handles both automatic and manual adjustments, even correcting perspective. Ghost removal takes care of moving people, cars, or swaying trees. Single-photo enhancement is supported as well, letting you improve a lone image just as easily as a full HDR sequence.

You get full control with a live, full-resolution preview that lets you fine-tune the look exactly as you want it.

It’s a complete photo-processing tool that lets you import both RAW and JPEG files. Built-in lens correction handles vignetting, chromatic aberration, and distortion with ease. During tone mapping, you can freely crop, rotate, and fix perspective or geometric issues. Any small flaws can be cleaned up with the healing tool. And for maximum creative control, layers let you tone-map different parts of the image with their own settings, giving you total flexibility over the final look.

easyHDR is capable of these image formats:

  • JPEG
  • JP2
  • HEIF
  • TIFF 8/16/32 bit
  • Radiance RGBE
  • OpenEXR 16/32 bit
  • FITS (used in astrophotography cameras)
  • and nearly all digital camera RAW formats by all vendors

There is also a plug-in allowing integration with Adobe Lightroom Classic. If you have hundreds of photos to process, you'll also find batch processing very useful. Just create a task list, start processing, and wait for the results.

What’s new in version 3.17

I'm delighted to see this app is still being developed and upgraded. I have a Mac with Apple Silicon, and now it's got native support, which should make it faster. I stand by my previous comments, made as long as ten years ago! Well done!

I'm a registered user of this wonderful piece of software since around 2013. But now when I moved to a new M1 Mac, it requires a Roseeeta-helper. I won't install any unnecessary cr..p anymore on my new Mac. Hopefully the developer will update the application to work without helpers. So, minus 2 stars.

I love this program!!! It amazes me that few people on the photography forums I inhabit know about it. Sure, it's Mac-only, but a lot of folks use Macs for photography these days. easyHDR is unrivaled (in my opinion) in turning one photo into a HDR. When using multiple photos (bracketed) it has always produced wonderful -- sometimes spectacularly better) results. A+++

I used the trial version, and I'm really impressed with the ease of use, no mess and confusion like in Luminar, which I tried too and deleted angrily after it made me tired and nervous in just 5 minutes. It's one of rare applications (like SwiftPublisher for example), which makes you love it within the first minutes of use.

Keeps Getting Better And Better! I can't think of a better piece of photo editing software at this low price! If you shoot in JPEG, this is a must-have. I shoot in RAW, and even then, easyHDR easily makes my photos pop -- with a minimum of work. Indispensable for any serious or semi-serious photographer!
